  • Notes: This project began as a thought in 2018. After getting permission to build in a Heritage District in downtown Kitchener and save one of the three buildings on the property. We finally have our site plan. The demolition of the current building can start on the two buildings facing Weber Street. The third building located on Young street will be attached to the new building and house 3 one bedroom apartments We hope to have shovels in the ground in the summer of 2022 with a time line of 12 to 18 months for completion of the eight story building. Abbeyfield is located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building and will be responsible for outfitting each floor with 16 suites, kitchen, eating area, laundry. We invite local senior and or cultural organizations to join the Abbeyfield at Fifty-Six Weber Steering Committee and help us build thie dream for independent seniors. This could create two Abbeyfield’s with about 15 residents each
