Recognizing that people at different life stages have different types of concerns and questions related to their health, the government of BC has created a website with a host of different topics relevant to residents as they move through the life cycle. A quick look at the Seniors' Health page displays not only topics with significant information but also information sheets in PDF form in a host of different languages.

The Seniors' page has information on various chronic illnesses including heart disease, osteoporosis, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's' and others as well as information on elder abuse, healthy eating, visual and hearing issues, advanced care, and preventing falls. The full list of topics and associated information can be found at

Additionally, there is a phone number you can call if you require additional information or have questions - from anywhere in BC you can dial 811 and the number will be toll-free. An RN is available 24/7 through that line and is able to connect you with other professionals should the need arise.

As well, there is a Seniors Health Care Support Line for people with concerns about care services in the province. The toll-free number is 1-877-952-3181.
